I came across a new web site the other day called Niagara Blog (yes, another copy cat!). I’m not really sure what the purpose of the site is. There are a fair number of videos, but very little text accompanying the videos explaining why they are even being posted.
With that being said, there was one video posted the other day that was interesting, and probably wasn’t the sort of promotion the area wants. There is a video posted of a fight on Clifton Hill. It is a very short clip, and you can’t really see any fighting happening, but you can tell by the surroundings it happened outside of Tim Hortons or Canada Trading Company.

Can’t seem to get these links to work Graham? I really want to see this.
I’ve fixed the links. Sorry about that.
Thanks Graham!
i don’t see anything in this video but the ground and some feet.
Ive seen the Clifton Hill policemen really put a hurtin on some out of line people (outside of rumors) in my day. Not a good move to do something stupid up there.
definitely not good in CH, especially because it is a FAMILY tourist area!
I love how one minute you say Niagara Blog is a copy cat of yours, then you say it has no purpose and there are videos without much writing. How is this a copy cat when it is the exact opposite of your blog.
Niagara Blog features videos related to the Niagara Area and is not specific to Niagara Falls as your blog is. These videos provide entertainment for local young adults. The blog is only a few weeks old and my not have that many discussions going on as yours does, but the traffic is growing rapidly.
Copy cat it is not. In fact, you did not “come across a new web site the other day”. You were notified by the trackback system that Access Niagara was mentioned in the following post.
http://www.niagarablog.com/new-light-display-for-winter-festival-of-lights/
Wow, relax Dennis.
The name is a copy cat. There are several other blogs that have similar names. Mine was the first.
If the purpose of the “Niagara Blog” is to show videos of the Niagara region, than say that somewhere on your site.
I’m not sure what is wrong with saying that I came across a new site. You pinged me, so I came across the site. I’m not about to explain every time how I came across a web site (friends, family, newsletters, random searches, RSS feeds, pingbacks, offline ads, TV, and more).
Graham, its not like that site offers any quality. Its all ripped off YouTube junk. Im a young adult and I think that site sucks. It will probably fold in a few months and will never generate the amount of loyal followers this site does.
I’m not bitter about anything, and I am certainly not worried about anything. I do what I do, and either people will like it or not. I just think it is odd that Dennis would react like that. Not exactly the best way to go about making friends in the online community.
You are exactly right, I don’t think you said anything wrong in your original post whatsoever. It was a severe over-reaction on the part of Dennis. Working together online makes alot more sense than against each other,Im sure you posting that link exposed his site to a larger number of people than knew about it prevously. I know I visit a large number of NF related sites weekly and I knew nothing of it before that post. This site is by far and away the best NF information web-site on the net.
yur right niagara…graham has made this a great site!..be kinda lost without it now…lol…anyhow..i was down for a few days this week..talked to my friend..the jewellery store beside the pilgrim restaurant and under the masterhost..is closed now too..altho i’m sure you’ve alreadsy noticed…anyhow…she told me that it’s pretty definate that east side marios is goin in..and possibly mcdonalds too upstairs..with 4 or so stores underneath..apparently a museum hasn’t been mentioned again for awhile..the festival of lights was pretty good this year..love how they do up all the trees…and my granddaughter really enjoyed dufferin..she was kinda miffed tho cuz we were there earlier in the day feeding the ducks..and they were *sleeping* when we went and she couldn’t see them in the dark…lol
keep up the GREAT work graham..and of course..all you regulars too
McDonald’s on the hill, disgusting. Ya knew it had to happen some day though, they own the world don’t they? I would put $$ on a bet that there will never be another “touristy” museum put in the NF; I believe those days are long gone. The ones that still exist, other than Ripleys,Movieland, and Toussads will probably go out of business in the next 10 years.
niagara, you’re right about the other attractions that aren’t movie;and, ripley’s and tussaud’s. i’ve been to ripley’s, tussaud’s, ripleys 4d, the fun house, and GC midway, the best 2 were tussaud’s and ripley’s museum. The problem with the other ones is that they are too short. The fun house, i was in there for 10 minutes and ended up leaving. $$ is way to igh for a 10 minute “experience”.
Dennis overreacted a little, didn’t he. Graham’s site is the best NF site i’ve been on. Posts about everything. I found linked to a page an a site called screamscape on a marineland post, and since then i’v been commenting for a while. back in april, i wanted to know when the topple tower ride was opening, so i went on screamscape, and they told me everything i needed to know. i got a link here, and here i am. i said goodbye to the other NF sites that day, and i’m not regretting it.
I don’t think I overreacted. You all act as if I pulled out a gun and started shooting everyone.
After I talked so positively about Access Niagara in my post, I did not expect such a negative response in return. Graham is entitled to his opinion and I am entitled to get offended. Saying I am copying you is not “making friends in the online community”. As I have explained in my previous post, our websites are nothing alike.
For the record, the purpose of the website is made quite clear in the very first post. Most of the videos have been purchased and are original which are embedded from our YouTube & Metacafe accounts. The name has Niagara in it because it is a website related to Niagara. I would be stupid not to have it in the name. So if the name is the same as yours, I am sorry that we both live in Niagara. I have started several business websites over the past 6 years and none have “folded”. In fact most have a very high google page rank and makes hundreds of dollars a day. Some of the names of them do contain the word Niagara, so maybe I should be accusing you of coping me, right?
When the domain name “niagarablog” came up for sale in the summer, I purchased it with the hopes of turning it into something fun on the side. The blog that was there before me did “fold”, probably because they had nothing original.
The point of all this is that you totally bashed my blog which is fine, like I said you are entitled to your opinion and I reacted as anyone would have, defending it. I do not care that most of your visitors do not like my website because they are not suppose to like something different. They are here because they are loyal and they should be. I never intended for all this to happen when I spoke so positively about your blog. My apologies for even mentioning Access Niagara in the first place and I will be sure never to do it again.
Peace
Again, Wow! Relax Dennis…
The only other thing I’ll say is that I will continue to link to the Niagara Blog if they post something that I think would be of interest to my visitors. Why would I ever exclude a site if there is content that my visitors would be interested in?
Lol, man that guy is a grumpy lil fellow huh?
Alright, thats my last post about this, no reason to argue over the net, nobody ever wins.
I agree Niagara…
Notice to everyone: I will edit or delete any further comments that ar argumentative over the two sites. If anyone has any points they need to make, feel free to email me directly.
good idea graham
