I’m sure there are a few new things this year (as there are most years) for the Winter Festival of Lights. The main thing that I’ve noticed that is new in in the Zimmerman Fountain Pond at the bottom of Clifton Hill in Queen Victoria Park. Over the last week or so a couple of people have been putting together a light display and it looks like they are done now. I haven’t seen it lit up, but it looks like it will be very nice. I think it is supposed to look like a fountain itself, and it is made up of a lot of white lights.

For those who are interested, a plaque on the rock in front of the pond describes who Mr. Zimmerman was:

From the Niagara Falls Review:
To mark the Winter Festival of Lights’ 25th anniversary, Jack Custers has gone digging through the vaults.
The production supervisor of Cogeco Cable 10 has footage from most every festival, and felt it was time for a look back. Starting this week, nostalgic vignettes on the event’s colourful history will air every week during the duration of this year’s festival, which kicks off Saturday.
