Clifton Hill Resorts Update - November 2007

Yesterday I received the latest issue of the Clifton Hill Resorts Update newsletter (for those interested, although not mentioned in the newsletter, the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill is participating in the Sleep Cheap, Charities Reap promotion). They are promoting several winter package plans. The newsletter also highlights the Winter Festival of Lights.

Niagara Falls To Be Lit In Red to Honor Veterans

From WIVB News:

In commemoration of the sacrifice and contributions made by veterans and current service personnel in both Canada and the United States, The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will light the Falls in red as a symbol of remembrance and honor to all who have served and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

According to The Niagara Parks Commission Chairman Jim Williams, “Our Board felt there was no better way to honor our soldiers, veterans and those who have fallen, than to illuminate this shared natural wonder in red.” Williams believes that with Remembrance Day falling on a Sunday this year, the evening will provide a greater number of individuals an opportunity to view, pause and reflect on the sacrifices made for our two countries. “With Sunday being a traditional day of worship that tends to bring families together, I believe it befits the message such a memorial lighting will send.”
