Niagara Falls in Autumn 2007

Autumn is well on its way, and winter is almost here. We’ve had a few snow flakes fall, but they haven’t stayed. Most of the leaves are off the trees now, but a couple of weeks ago I took a set of pictures of the autumn leaves along Queen Victoria Park.

As is always the case, you can see some of the thumbnails below, and view all of the thumbnails and larger pictures in the Niagara Falls in Autumn 2007 gallery.

For those keeping track, there are now over 2,300 images in the Niagara Falls Image Gallery.

The ice-men of competitive goofy golf

This doesn’t have much to do with Niagara Falls, but I came across a web site about miniature golf. In passing, the person mentioned Galaxy Golf (although not by name) on Clifton Hill and has a picture:

I love miniature golf, the more preposterous the holes the better. I like loop-de-loops, rotating obstacles, crossing wood-plank bridges over moats, the whole thing. I even played a glow-in-the dark goofy golf course in some dingy cellar on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls.

City girl schmoozes with Regis

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Regis Philbin started the week off telling the world about meeting Claudia Santini-Visca, but the Niagara Falls girl was making it through another Monday morning in Grade 5.

“I didn’t know anything. I was surprised when I heard about it,” Claudia said Monday after hearing she was featured prominently when Philbin told his TV audience about his weekend visit to Niagara Falls.

Ten-year-old Claudia spent Friday night schmoozing with Philbin, the popular host of the ‘Live With Regis and Kelly’ talk show before his performance at the Niagara Fallsview Casino.

“It was fun and exciting. He sounds and looks the exact same as he does on his show,” Claudia said Monday during her lunch break at Mary Ward elementary school.
