A Comedy Festival is Born

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

When he was a high school student at NFCVI, Rodney Pentland stood on the theatre stage and made a vow to himself.

“I remember standing there thinking, ‘Some day I’m going to come back here and people are going to pay to see me,'” says the Niagara Falls comedian.

The school has a new name. Pentland nearly died. But several years later, he’s right where he wanted to be this weekend: The first annual Niagara Falls Comedy Fest.

Pentland joins a handful of comedy club regulars for the two-day event, headlined by “Corner Gas” star Brent Butt and burly funnyman John Pinette.

They’ll turn the Niagara Centre for the Performing Arts into a barrel of laughs, starting Friday night.
