As regular contributor Dan mentioned, the Brock Plaza will be become part of the Park Plaza chain next year:
The Brock name, synonymous with the Niagara Falls, Ont., hospitality industry for generations, is about to become history.
Canadian Niagara Hotels, owner of the Brock Plaza complex located on the edge of the Rainbow Bridge and Queen Victoria Park, has decided to change the hotel’s affiliation to the Crowne Plaza corporate family.

Has anyone heard the Sheraton Fallsview was bought by Niagara 21 Group? or is it a rumour? Niagara 21 Group just bought the Renaissance…
I haven’t heard anything. So what all does Niagara 21st Group own now?
I hope they keep the webcam if this is the property I think it is.
the brock changing the name is ..well…suicide!!..that name has been SO linked with the falls for SO many years….many hollywood stars stayed there…marilyn monroe for starters while shooting the movie niagara….and many more that i dunno of…but anyhow…we had our millenium wedding (2000) there for the reception….it is ABSOLUTELY beautiful….so classy….very beautiful hotel….be a shame to change the name after all these years….
Ask Dan M. or Rick who Niagara 21st Group owns now, they seem to be able to keep up with it the best, because I sure can’t!
Niagara 21st own Marriot Fallsview, Embassy Suites, Marriot Courtyard and all associated restaurants. It is run by the Menechella family. The family (not sure if it’s as Niagara 21st or separately) is also building the new 30 storey Hampton Inn.
Niagara 21st Group also owns the Reniasssance and changed the name to Fallsview Plaza as mentioned before in this blog. I heard from a reliable source that they purchased the Sheraton Fallsview a few weeks ago. They now have approximately 1,860 rooms in Niagara between the 5 hotels plus the new Hampton Inn build.
Here is the Sherton’s web site.

Louise does this hurt HOCO in any way?
Niagara, I guess it does hurt Hoco some what because their hotels are newer and have falls view rooms but the rates are pretty high. There are some loyal customers of the Clifton Hill area that love it and wouldn’t stay any where else.
Exactly
OK, heres the deal, in the hotel (Marriott) it is considered to be two different companys. The family sorta split, the Niagara 21st group owns the Marriott Fallsview, the Courtyard by Marriott and the speculated Sheraton Fallsview. Also part of that is the Keg and TGIF off of Victoria. The 21st group is run by Cosmo Menechella. The speculation is the the sheraton will be no longer and will change names before the beginning of next summer. Also the Marriott will be going through major reno in the 6 months, rooms and the lobby.
On the otherside The Fallsview Group owns the Embassy Suites , The Fallsview Plaza which is rumored to turn into a Four Points by Sheraton. They are the part of the family who are building the Hampton Inn. The fallsview Group is Carmens side of the family.
Sorry about the name could get in trouble.
thanks for info, anonymous.
Any word on when they plan on starting the new Hampton Inn Anonymous?
Unfortunately there has been any news on my area of the company, but i will keep you posted on any news
OT: Does anyone know if Casino Niagara’s future has been decided? Isn’t the deadline on picking up the lease very soon?
