Accident on Niagara SkyWheel’s sister Ferris wheel

The Niagara SkyWheel is an R60 Giant Wheel by Ronald Bussink and Chance Morgan. As Sue mentioned, there was a Ferris wheel in Korea where there was an accident where several people died. Based on the pictures, it appears that one of the gondolas turned on its side, and the people inside the gondola fell out the window when it popped out. I thought the Ferris wheel looked the same as Niagara SkyWheel, but I’ve only been able to find one article that actually mentions the rides manufacturer, Ronald Bussink. Apparently the Sea World Eye in Australia is the same sort of Ferris wheel. The operator decided that they would shut down the ride until they got assurances from the manufacturer that everything was ok. The Niagara SkyWheel has kept running since the accident, so apparently HOCO doesn’t have the same concerns or their concerns were resolved right away by the manufacturer.
