Great Wolf Lodge in Spring 2007

As I reported back in March, my wife and I went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls for our 10th Anniversary. We had been several times before with the kids, but had never been there before as a couple.

If you haven’t been able to tell from previous postings, we love the Great Wolf Lodge! The hotel is beautiful, the waterpark is huge, the arcade is small, but fun, and the ambiance is relaxing. We only stayed over for one night, but in that time we swam, soaked in the hot tub, went out for dinner, soaked some more in the hot tub, and my wife went to the spa. There isn’t much more to say other than we had a great time, and we can’t wait to go back.

While Lisa was at the spa, I took some pictures. As is always the case, you can see some thumbnails below, but you can see all of the thumbnails and the larger versions of the images in the Great Wolf Lodge in Spring 2007 gallery.

I’ve also posted 2 videos for you to see. The first video is a short one of the wave pool. I have a shot from above the pool, and then another shot from the same level as the pool.

The second video is of the entire waterpark. I slowly turned around so you get a 360 degree view of the waterpark.

Geocaching Niagara Falls

Geocaching is a scavenger hunt where you use a GPS to find a “treasure” at a location. In some cases, you actually get to take something away with you. In other cases, you just take a picture of yourself at the location to prove that you were there (a virtual cache).

The Geocaching web site is the official web site, and you can look up information on caches in certain area. This summer I heard some people talking about locations in Niagara Falls. Apparently there all of the caches in Niagara Falls are virtual as things are too busy to actually leave a little treasure behind. I don’t have a GPS, but the web site shows 2 caches in Niagara Falls that have been found recently:

Tourist Traps: Niagara Falls’ Clifton Hill

Jaunted bills itself as The Pop Culture Travel Guide. This week a short blog post with a video was posted of Clifton Hill talking about how it is a trap. Even thought this was just posted, the video is from a couple of years ago.

The Niagara Falls tag on the Jaunted site also has a couple of other postings about Niagara Falls.
