This past weekend was beautiful! It was kind of hot, but the sky was clear and blue. While I was out and around on Saturday, I was by Clifton Hill and Marineland (to take a video of the Topple Tower which I’ll post tomorrow. Here are a couple of pictures that show you how great a day it was on Saturday:

This is the place where you pet the deer at Marineland. Other than that small cloud, the sky was perfectly blue when I was there.

This picture of the Niagara SkyWheel was taken from the Skylon Tower side of the wheel.
This is kind of a holiday weekend in Canada. The so-called “Civic Holiday” isn’t a statutory holiday, but many people still get it off. There must have been a lot of people around. On Saturday afternoon as I was driving out of Niagara Falls, highway 420 was backed up from Stanley Avenue all the way to the QEW. I also heard that yesterday was very busy in the evening, especially after the fireworks.
From November 2 - 4, the Skylon Tower will host the 13th Annual Wheel World Car & Bike Exhibition. It will be on the plaza level, the level that is almost always closed. I’ll try to make it over to see what the area looks like.

I don’t know if any of you have seen the “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” movie (I haven’t), but apparently there is a shot of Clifton Hill and Niagara Falls in the movie as the two main characters come here to get “married”.
Back in March I posted about a notice of a public hearing that was hanging on the Courtyard Marriott sign between the Courtyard Marriott and TGI Fridays. There has been another sign up now for a couple of weeks that I finally got around to taking a picture of.

Clark Ave is the street where the new big parking lot is. This is the same street where a couple of houses were torn down recently. There is also a back entrance there to the Courtyard Marriott, TGI Fridays, and The Keg.
As Fallsview mentioned in a previous comment, the large parking lot on Clark Ave appears to be run (and probably owned) by the Fallsview Casino.

I’ve never seen more than 1 or 2 cars in the lot at the same time. There doesn’t seem to be a way to pay going in, so perhaps it is only for card holders of some kind. I’ve emailed their “concierge” asking if I can park there. We’ll see what they say…
