From the Niagara Falls Review:
After spending six days in a car and $400 worth of gas, Bryon Johnson and his wife, Melissa, arrived in Niagara Falls from California.
“A plane ticket would’ve been more, actually, for both of us to fly,” said Melissa, shrugging her shoulders. “We wanted to see the country side,” Bryon added. The long journey across the country and price of gas didn’t bother the Johnsons, but the Associated Press recently reported Americans are driving less…
Niagara Falls border crossings as well as the Peace Bridge have also shown a decline in the number of cars passing from the United States into Canada. The Rainbow Bridge saw a decrease of more than 8,500 cars crossing the border from the United States to Canada during June and July.
The Queenston-Lewiston bridge saw a bit more of a dramatic decrease from numbers in June and July from last year. The number of cars travelling on that bridge in June and July went down this year by about 24,000 cars.
