I often listen to the sports radio station in Toronto (CJCL, The Fan 590). I often download Prime Time Sports and listen to it as I go for a walk at lunch. The Monday, July 28, 2008 show had someone on who was going to Beijing for the Olympics and they were talking about food. Somehow the host, Bob McCown mentioned Denny’s and the pricing at the Niagara Falls location. The clip is about a minute long and is referring to the Denny’s outside the casino. I assume they are referring to the former Denny’s that is now where the Hilton is being built.
I’ve edited the show to only have the clip about Denny’s. The MP3 is about a minute long.

The new coffee house on Victoria Avenue, Brewed Awakenings, has become more of a bar. I think it is still officially called that, but they are using the name Reggie’s Bar to promote it.
Someone with a LiveJournal blog posted about some trips to Niagara Falls:
Things have definitely improved in the five years since George and I have been together. I remember getting a phone call the first January, saying he wouldn’t be home for three days. He’d gone to a spa for a retreat. What the #*#*#???? Turns out he’d gone off to the spa at Niagara Falls, and yes, they have gambling there. The next time he went to Niagara, I went along for the ride. We went on one of those buses where they charge you twenty five dollars, and then give you a coupon to be redeemed for twenty dollars at Fallsview Casino. The next time, we spent the day together at the Falls, and rode on the Maid of the Mist. How romantic. How wet.
I saw this in a press release the other day, and I wasn’t going to mention it, but since they do have one location in Niagara Falls, I figured, “Why not?!”

Depending on who you talk to, things don’t appear to be as bad as many thought they would be in the tourism sector this year.
Some operators along Clifton Hill are reporting a better-than-expected summer - poor weather, a high Canadian dollar and slowdowns at the border haven’t stopped visitors from crowding the tourist hot spot in Niagara Falls, despite projections earlier this year that the numbers might fall.
On the other hand, we hear from others who say it has been a soft year … much as what was expected.
