From the Niagara Falls Review:
From the cold, steel hands of futuristic cyborgs to alien attacks on the streets of New York, the project manager and technical director for Niagara’s Fury is well versed in the world of special effects.
John Erickson has worked on two of Universal Studios’ main adventure rides at its theme park in Florida - Terminator 2: 3-D, and Men in Black Alien Attack. He was also recruited overseas to lend his expertise on other theme park attractions.
Now, the 47-year-old is on board with the Niagara Parks Commission as one of the lead hands on a creative team building its $7 million, six-minute thrill ride at Table Rock, part of a $38-million expansion of the more than 80-year-old facility.
“I think we’re going to make this a very intense, very realistic ride where people will truly experience moments in time,” said Erickson.

okay, caoght something in there, 6 minute ride? are you sure that’s not a typo? cause that’s not that long for a well-anticipated attraction for more than 2 months, IMO!
If it was the largest roller coaster in the world, it would only be a 2-4 mnute ride. Can you think of any ride/attraction anywhere that is longer than a few mintes? 6 minutes seems pretty long to me.
The longer the ride is the less people they will get through the gates the longer it takes to get a return in the investment.
6 minutes does seem a little long to me compare to rides such as roller coaster.
The ride had a soft opening this past Saturday, and they had signs up saying “now open.” Haven’t heard any feedback yet on it!
i hear your opinions, and i am not angry at all! yes, roller coasters are only 2-4 minutes, but i think a show like that should be a good 10 minutes, but hey, that’s my opinion!
The actual show in & of itself is 6-minutes, but don’t foget about the pre-show (umm, if there is one)… there has to be some kind of introduction before you step into the main room… so you have some kind of idea what to expect.
The Review today is saying that the ride wasn’t open, but people were able to watch the pre-show (so I guess there is one).
My sister was visiting this weekend and I asked her if she had ever been through one of the similar Universal Studios attractions (Twister and Poseidon) and she said she’d been to the Twister attraction and it was lame.
either way, this attraction is going to be neat
