From the Niagara Falls Review:
The secret’s out.
On Wednesday, the Niagara Parks Commission let its staff hear details about Niagara’s Fury - the $7-million attraction being built at Table Rock that has been kept tightly under wraps since plans to overhaul the facility were announced last year.
Over the U.S. Memorial Day weekend in late May, the floor inside a specially designed room at Table Rock will tremble. Water below will boil. The temperature will drop 40 degrees in two seconds.
At the same time, the sights and sounds of the formation of Niagara Falls - shot with technology previously used only in satellites and medicine - will immerse riders in what the Niagara Parks is billing as a 4-D, Universal Studios-style attraction.
Hmmm… sounds just like what we talked about over a month ago!
I posted previously about some working going on at the Beef Baron on Centre St. I can’t tell what’s happening inside, but they are putting some nice stone/brick on the outside.

From the Niagara Falls Review:
Plans for the Niagara Convention and Civic Centre are taking shape, but it will be later this year before anyone knows how the building will look.
“Now that we have a game plan in place, a lot of people are curious to see what the convention centre will look like,” said Dragan Matovic, project director for the $92-million centre to be built on Stanley Avenue, about 500 metres west of the Horseshoe Falls.
“Unfortunately, I don’t have any information. Sorry to tease you,” he said at a luncheon Wednesday hosted by the Niagara Falls Canada Chamber of Commerce.
But the “design-build procurement process” being used for the convention centre means private companies that will bid on the project will be responsible for the design, said Matovic.
Another interesting quote from the article:
Tim Parker, the general manager for Ripley’s Entertainment, said more off-season business is the “driving force” in his company’s decision to build a $70-million aquarium.
Are the committed now to build the aquarium?!
