The Kratt Brothers

If you have kids that are under 10, then the chances are that at some point you’ve seen or heard of Zoboomafoo. He’s a leaping lemur on a kids show that is “hosted” by the Kratt Brothers, Chris and Martin

This isn’t earth shattering, but since I like to post about all things Niagara Falls, I figured I’d post this. Salci raises stakes in casino talks

From the Niagara Falls Review:

City hall and tourism operators turned up the heat on Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty to make a long-term commitment to keep Casino Niagara open. The “Committee to Save Niagara Jobs” rolled out a website Friday with the message “Casino Niagara Must Stay Open.”

The site - www.saveniagarajobs.ca - shows a smiling, young girl with her family on a sofa in the background watching TV.

“Housing, feeding and clothing a family isn’t a game,” the message reads. Nearly 400 people have signed an online petition since Friday.

Celebrating 70 years of the Oakes Garden Theatre

From the Niagara Falls Review:

One of Niagara Falls’s most famous and beautiful attractions celebrated its 70th birthday last Tuesday.

It was on September 18, 1937, that Oakes Garden Theatre was officially opened. This extraordinary blend of architectural and horticultural skills is visited and admired by countless numbers of people each year.

Located on the north side of Clifton Hill between Falls Avenue and River Road, the site has considerable historical significance. It was here that Niagara Falls’s most prominent 19th century hotel was located. Known as the Clifton House, it was constructed in 1833, and had a number of additions in the years that followed.
