From the Buffalo News:
Highwire performer Jay Cochrane wants to do what no man has done before — walk on a wire more than half a mile between the American and Canadian side of the falls.
The performance of such a feat is currently prohibited by both the Niagara, Ont., Parks Commission and the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
But there may be light at the beginning of the walk for Cochrane, albeit so slight. The Niagara Parks Commission said Friday it would “entertain a formal proposal from Mr. Cochrane for a proposed walk next season.â€

I honestly think that he should be allowed by both the USA & Canadian side because tourism has been suffering the past couple of years, and if this promotional stunt is given some good marketing, it would really draw a huge crowd, and even get a little national exposure.
I sincerely hope this goes through, and that the Niagara Commission on both the US & Canadian borders see this as a shot in the arm to help boost tourism, albeit a little… but enough to give The Falls a little exposure, and take a little pressure off the much discussed passport issue.
