Last Thursday I received another newsletter from the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa. They are promoting a Marineland package.

From the Buffalo News:
A renovated Niagara Adventure Theater in the Niagara Falls State Park Visitor Center marked its grand opening Thursday with a 40-minute movie on the history of the falls.
“Niagara: Legends of Adventure,†which has been shown in Niagara Falls, Ont., for 21 years, made its official debut on the American side.
The movie has been seen by 14 million people at the IMAX theater since it opened on the Ontario side of the border in 1986, said Murray Mold, marketing director for Destination Cinema, which operates Niagara Adventure Theater.
I wonder what the IMAX Theatre in Niagara Falls, Ontario thinks of losing their exclusivity for the movie.
From the Niagara Gazette:
A historic building with a commanding view of the falls is now owned by a hotel chain committed to preserving its stately exterior.
Seldom is that kind of foresight evident in a city which claims tourism as the leading industry.
The former Loretto Academy in Niagara Falls, Ontario, a boarding school that opened its doors in 1861, has been purchased by the adjacent Sheraton Fallsview Hotel and Conference Center, off Stanley Avenue.
In earlier years, aside from the original General Brock Hotel (near the Rainbow Bridge), Loretto and its next door neighbor (Mount Carmel College) were among the few structures that visitors in the Niagara Falls State Park could spot on the Ontario side, above the Horseshoe Falls.
Today, looking across the river, Loretto is dwarfed by high-rise hotels, observation towers and eye-catching attractions like a giant Ferris wheel.
