50 Canadian travel highlights

Canada.com has a current feature called 50 Canadian travel highlights. There is one reference to Niagara Falls on the list:

10. Take a ride on the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls, Ont. Sure, it’s touristy, but worth every penny just the same.

This isn’t particularly noteworthy, but there is a link to a 2 1/2 minute video that looks like it is an older marketing video (5-10 years old). You see the old Dinosaur Park location, the old Tussaud’s location, Dazzleland, and more. It’s interesting to see how much things have changed over the last few years.

No more Nathan’s famous hotdogs?

Last year I took a picture of the Skylon Tower concessions location on Murray Hill and posted about how there was a Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs location.  The sign for Nathan’s is now gone, and it looks like it has been replaced with a Mr. Sub and DQ/Orange Julius location (which is also inside the games area of the tower).

Cochrane plans first walk today

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Jay Cochrane’s first attempted wirewalk of the summer was canceled again Tuesday.

There are still problems with the set-up of the wires, but Cochrane expects to make his first walk of the summer today at 4 p.m., weather permitting, at the Skylon Tower, said his media representative Mark Phillips.

The weather doesn’t look that great today (very cloudy with a possibility of thunderstorms), so I wouldn’t be surprised if it is postponed again.

Benoit sign/banner and handprints removed

I’m a little late in posting these pictures, but as of last Friday, the large Chris Benoit banner on the side of the WWE store, and his handprints had been removed.
