Council scraps downtown proposal

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

City council formally scrapped the Strategic Implementation Plan, the controversial downtown revitalization plan they’ve spent a year and a half trying to get off the ground.

Instead, revitalization efforts will concentrate on a “scaled back” version of that plan focusing on the eastern end of Queen Street, not the entire street.

“We just threw out the SIP,” said Coun. Carolynn Ioannoni after more than two hours of discussion.
