niagara falls…more unspoiled beauty

Someone with a Vox blog posted about a recent trip to Niagara Falls:

I think Niagara Falls is almost as beautiful as Gatlinburg. What Niagara Falls is lacking in pancake houses, it makes up for in giant, neon lit signs and 24-hr cheesy music.

Someone with a Live Journal blog posted about a recent trip to Niagara Falls:

-Arrive in Niagara Falls, at the Marriot Hotel at 1:00
-Check in immediately - room has an absolutely breathtaking view, as well as a king-size bed and a Jacuzzi tub. We are in heaven.
-Spend a couple hours walking by the Falls
-Supper at the Skylon tower’s revolving restaurant at 5:00
-Clifton Hill fun from 7:00 to 9:00 (visited the Ripley’s Believe-it-or-Not museum as well as the Louis Tussaud’s Wax Museum - both were loads of fun).
-Viewed fireworks from hotel room at 10:00 (loved the fact that we avoided the crazy crowds and still had a wonderful view)

From the Globe and Mail:

The Sterling Inn is a fusion of luxury hotel and fine inn. It offers packages ranging from the one- or two-night Retreat, which includes dinner, breakfast in bed and a couple’s treatment in the hotel’s Spa One, to the Experience, which begins with a limousine ride from your home.

The building has an interesting history. In 1930, it housed Borden’s Dairy, whose horse-drawn carts delivered milk and cream to the residents of Niagara Falls, Ont.
