I have previously written about the hotel, the room, and the restaurant at the DoubleTree Resort Lodge & Spa in Niagara Falls. I also included links to pictures and videos. This is the final posting in the series.
Overall, we had a great time at the hotel. The service was exceptional. There are many hotels and companies in Niagara Falls that give great service, and the DoubleTree Resort Lodge & Spa is definitely one of them. From the time we checked in, through our meals (both breakfast and dinner were great), extra requests and more, to checking out, the staff were courteous and quick to respond, Shortly after we checked in we received a call in our room asking if everything was to our liking. At the end of our stay we asked for a late checkout and were able to stay until 1pm (instead of 11 am). Best of all, the staff seemed to be genuinely sincere in their efforts. That is the most impressive thing. You can teach service, and your staff may follow the steps, but you can still tell they are almost following a script. The staff at the DoubleTree Resort Lodge & Spa genuinely seemed to care. As an example, when we were at Buchanans for breakfast, our server disappeared for a few minutes. I went out to take a few pictures and noticed he was downstairs. When he came back up he had several leaflets for area attractions for us, and made sure he had something that appealed to our sons. He didn’t have to do this. The owners of the hotel didn’t operate any of the other attractions. The server just wanted to help. Very impressive.
It is always a little disappointing when you have to check out. Our little vacation was over. My youngest son really wanted to stay, and I can certainly see why.
Since we’ve been home, both my wife and I have told many people about our stay. We’ve talked with other people who have either stayed or eaten at the DoubleTree Resort Lodge & Spa and they’ve all had similar experiences. The operators should be proud of their establishment, and make sure they keep everything at this high level.
