I know that Cirque Niagara’s Avaia is gone, but I figured I’d still share a video that you can see on the Stage 6 web site. It is about 2 minutes long, and shows scenes from the “fast track” trampoline.
NOTE: You need the free DivX Web Player to see the video.
February 25, 2008 Update: Apparently the Stage 6 web site will close on Feb 28. If you would like to see this video you need to before then.
The little shop on Victoria Avenue that was called Fall 4 Tea now has a much larger sign above it. Apparently it has become a Mediterranean grill called Tarboosh:
The OFN Community (Ontario’s Fishing Forum) has a posting asking what you did on Family Day. The first respondent came to Niagara Falls:
My wife, daughter and I headed into Toronto to the ROM. The line-up was unbelievable so we left there and drove to Niagara Falls.
We hit the Aviary and took in the sights and sounds of Clifton Hill for a few hours.
Topped it all off with a feed of wings and pizza at a local favorite.
Great day spending time with my family.
They are still doing a lot of structural work on the old Pilgrim Restaurant. It looks like the entire roof is gone. I don’t know if they are going to tear down the building entirely, or if they are just replacing “parts”. There has been no notice of a public meeting, so my guess is they are just modifying the existing building.
It’s turkey for Christmas dinner and ham at Easter.
But for Ontario’s first Family Day, hundreds of people were going for bamboo worms and ant eggs.
The bamboo worm is a two-inch larva that lives in bamboo chutes in China.
“It’s kind of crunchy, like a chip. A little bit salty. It has a flavour unto itself,” said chef Jeff Stewart, organizer of the third Bug-a-licious event at the Butterfly Conservatory.
