Niagara FreeFall ad

I commented a few weeks ago that I’ve heard the wind tunnel operating at the new Niagara FreeFall location at the Hooters. As I’ve been near there, I’ve heard it several more times. About a week ago the following ad was in the paper. They must be very close to opening.

“Nightlife and Last Day…. #3″

Someone with a Blogger blog has posted (with some nice pictures) about a recent vacation:

We bundled everyone up and headed out to view the town. Our hotel was in the Clifton Hill area which is very touristy with tons of lights and attractions.

The really neat thing….on the way home from dropping Carl off Val says to me…that was the BEST vacation I’ve ever had. Considering what she’d been through that day and she’d been on Carrie’s Make a Wish trip to Florida/Orlando for 10 days….that’s an awesome statement. Money well spent IMO.

Twinkling for a price

From Niagara This Week:

It could soon cost a few bucks for car loads of winter revellers to enjoy the twinkling lights along the Niagara Parkway.

Dino Fazio, general manager of the Winter Festival of Lights, told This Week his staff is looking at the possibility of charging admission to take in the annual lights festival, which will celebrate its 26th anniversary next year.

“I think if we want to stay in the top two lights festivals in North America, which we are, we have to look at other revenue sources,” said Fazio. “I think we have reached the point we are a bona fide attraction and we are worth an admission fee.”

Police search for body at base of falls

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Police say an unidentified man entered the upper Niagara River about 200 metres south of Table Rock around noon Saturday and was swept over the brink of the Horseshoe Falls.
