All things Niagara Falls tourism…

From Niagara This Week:
Several years ago, officials from the Japanese province of Hyogo were wrapping up a 10-year search for the best horticultural schools in the world to model a new $23-million horticultural school on.
The Japanese found their model at the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture, nestled in the stunning Botanical Gardens on the Niagara Parkway.
To Debbie Whitehouse, executive director of parks for the parks commission, that spoke volumes about her agency’s worldwide reputation for horticultural excellence, stewardship and conservation.
“That’s the level of world renown we’re at,” she said. “It just re-emphasizes the standard that’s been set.”
WGAL.com has a video on their site of a rescue drill:
Rescue crews throw a rope to a man trapped on an icy slope only feet away from Niagara Falls. A tourist shot the video from her hotel room, not knowing park rangers on the New York side were just conducting an exercise.
