I don’t remember seeing all of these banners or signs around the base of the Skylon Tower. All not terribly attractive, I can see why they are doing it. There will be a lot of press coverage of Jay Cochrane, and these signs will end up in a lot of photos and videos. More signs were put up after I took this picture. In the upper right-hand corner of the picture you can faintly see one of the white towers where Jay will be walking to or from.

As I was looking up at the tower today, I thought what’s to stop them from putting banners all the way up the tower? I doubt they would do that, but if they wanted to, I don’t think the city could stop them.
The signs look the boards of a hockey rink.
I wonder if the skylon will ever be torn down? they do zero improvements on it, and the view isnt that great when you consider most hotels are offering just as good of a view now. This looks terrible!
Hey, maybe tourists will notice that there’s actually a tower there now, and then even more people can discover that there’s nothing worth going in for;)
haha, I used to LOVE that place when I was a kid. I still like going into it more for nostalgia than anything else though. Its kind of a big empty nothing now
I remember how excited I was the first time I was going to eat in the reveolving dining room, then afterwards feeling ripped off thinking the food sucked for the price. But the view was nice.
OMG banners all the way up would look terrible, I would be so embarrassed for this place. If I remember correctly, a few people at city hall want a limit on the billboards going up, but I think it might just be for outside the tourist area. This is just a little excessive.
