Empty lot at corner of Robinson St and Clark Ave

There is an empty lot at the corner of Robinson Street and Clark Avenue. Up until recently, it had a short wooden fence/barrier that anyone could step over and wander through the lot. I don’t have a picture of what it used to look like, but this is how Google Maps shows it from a couple of years ago. You can tell that there was a lot of grass growing in and around the lot.

Now the lot has been cleaned up (more gravel put down) and a chain-link fence has gone up. There are no other signs on the lot to say what the changes are leading to.

Was falls done in by ‘ghost mouse?’

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Niagara Falls’ distant second-place finish in CBC’s Seven Wonders of Canada contest has one of the mighty cataract’s supporters wondering if dirty tricks had anything to do with the commanding lead Thunder Bay’s Sleeping Giant took in the voting.”I put two and two together. It almost goes without saying, anybody with a bit of computer knowledge can figure out what happened,” said Don Nesbitt, who has worked in the information technology field for 20 years.

Nesbitt said he believes some voters must have enlisted computer assistance to puff up the results. But a CBC spokesman said the broadcasting company’s technology department was on the lookout for that kind of abuse and didn’t notice it.
