Hotspots in Niagara Falls tourist areas

I have a Dell Axim that has WiFi connectivity. Normally when I go for a walk, I just listen to music, but the other day I turned the WiFi radio on to see what connections there were around the tourist area. Here is what I found:

  • qhn
This was right outside the new Travelodge Hotel by the Falls. It used to be a Quality Hotel, so I assume the qhn stands for Quality Hotel Niagara.
  • AidaUsher
Found along Stanley Avenue near the Doubletree hotel. Don’t know where the signal was coming from.
  • Aziz
Found along Stanley Avenue near the Doubletree hotel. Don’t know where the signal was coming from.
  • DoubletreeLobby
  • Doubletree2
  • Doubletree3
It’s pretty impressive that the Doubletree has 3 different hotspots to make sure the entire hotel has coverage
  • ALOHASKYLON
Found along Queen Victoria Park as I got near the Skylon Tower
  • TELUS
Found along Clifton Hill. Don’t know where the signal was coming from.
  • fatport (at least 2)
One was found along Clifton Hill. Don’t know where the signal was coming from.
The other was found along Stanley Avenue near the Doubletree hotel. Don’t know where the signal was coming from.
  • default (at least 2)

  • linksys (at least 2)

  • CourtyardMarriott
This was found on Victoria Avenue outside the Courtyard Marriott
  • GlobalSuiteWireless
This was found along Murray Hill outside the Best Western.

I was only able to connect to one or two of the hotspots (I can’t remember which ones). But obviously if you are staying in Niagara Falls, you have a very good chance of getting wireless access at your hotel.

    Good to know.
