High Times at the Travelodge by the Falls?

What on earth were they thinking? Last year I posted that the Travelodge by the Falls had renovated one of their end rooms that was beside Victoria Avenue, and someone rented it and turned it into a Pit Stop (a snack bar). That didn’t seem to do that well, and a store called High Times has opened which sells, among other things, pipes and bongs:

I don’t think this is the family atmosphere most people are looking for…

TGI Friday’s “additional facilities”

There is a “Notice of Liquor License Application” on the window of the TGI Friday’s on Victoria Avenue:

This could mean anything, but where would these additional facilities be? Are they building a patio or some other addition?

Coco’s patio finally open

Last year I had a lot of postings on the snail-paced construction of a new patio at Coco’s on Murray Hill. It appears it is done and open for business:

Hana America Corporation

I’ve written quite a bit about the DongBu Tours buidling that is going up on Stanley Avenue. The other day while I was walking by the building and noticed some signs up on the inside of the second floor tinted windows.

First of all, without the zoom on my camera, I wouldn’t be able to read these signs. I doubt that’s where the city or the liquor license board wants their signs/notices.

But I was able to read at least the name off the building application, and it says that it is for Hana America Corp. I did a search for this and found some information. The website for Draftcon Calamar, one of the construction companies (I took of a picture of their sign in the original posting) says the following:

Hanna America Corp has contracted with Draftcon Calamar to construct a 10,000 square foot, 2-story building on Stanley Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This building will be comprised of both retail and a restaurant.

The site also has some pictures of the construction progress.
