One of the regular commenters on the Niagara Falls Blog has been FALLSVIEW. He has been watching the site for a few years, and even started his own site to promote Niagara Falls (along with participating at some other enthusiast sites as well). FALLSVIEW’s real name is Lonny Bailey, and before he started his site, I had suggested that he write some posts for the Niagara Falls Blog. It didn’t work out at that point, but recently Lonny contacted me and asked if the offer was still available. We met last night and we’re going to give it a try.
Lonny works in St. Catharines and lives in Niagara Falls (the opposite of me), and so he is around more. He’ll basically be doing what I do… taking pictures and posting about new things. As the construction of the Convention Centre starts, he’ll take the lead in taking pictures of the construction for the blog. Over the winter he will probably also run a weekly poll on the site (which I sort of did last winter but which fizzled out).
This is by no means an indication that I’m going to reduce the amount of work that I’ve been doing. But with someone helping to keep the posts coming, I’ll have some more time to improve the design of the site (not just the blog), and get some more content up. That in turn will hopefully bring more visitors, which of course is what we all want.

And speaking of the Convention Centre, when the heck are we going to see some concrete progress on it and the 4 pad arena. It’s like they both have fallen into a black hole.

Thanks for your comments and interest in our 4Pad arena.I have just checked the latest update and here is the information which is very positive. Tenders were called and open and reviewed last week. The tender report goes to City Council Sept,8 08 for approval the sucessful contractor is the same one who built the Mcbain community centre, the construction is supposed to start at the end of September 08. Every thing looks good.
