From the Buffalo News:
For the first time in its 162-year history, the Maid of the Mist Corp. is going into the hotel business.
The world-famous tour boat company is buying the Comfort Inn The Pointe, the downtown hotel closest to the brink of the American Falls.
“This is a new venture for us,” Tim Ruddy, the Maid of the Mist’s vice president of marketing, said Friday. “We’re very excited to be entering that area of the tourism industry.”
The sale is expected to close early in January, Ruddy said. He declined to mention a price, but local real estate dealers estimated it could range between $10 million and $15 million.
