A few weeks ago, I noticed some work going on at the very top of the Skylon Tower. It looks like they’ve put in some new copper panels.

  1. FALLSVIEW says:

This was published in the Niagara Falls Review Last November.

“But while it was dazzling 20 years ago, (string of lighting coming down tower) it was time for an upgrade, says Carr. A multicoloured, computerized LED display was discussed for this year’s festival but couldn’t be installed in time.”

“He expects it to be a “major” part of next year’s festival.” “Once operational, Carr expects the new lights to be a tourist attraction on its own, and not just during the festival.”

I wonder if they will follow through with this, or abandon the idea claiming that the tourist numbers were not enough for a serious investment? With today’s blogs and websites documenting everything across the globe, it’s kind of hard to not be held accountable for proposals and ideas made through the media… and not be called on it!

So let’s hope they do follow through with this, because it would look amazing. And would show a confidence in Niagara’s tourism market!

So they’ve now had 10 months since then to have these lights installed, and still haven’t done it. If what they were talking about is anything like the CN Tower did, it isn’t going to happen in the next 7 weeks for this years WFOL either. Just typical Skylon and their preposterous proposals.
