East Side Mario’s windows

This isn’t anything earth shattering, but I thought I’d point out that it appears the new East Side Mario’s on Clifton Hill is going to have windows along Clifton Hill and along Oneida Lane.

In the previous posting, you can see that on the East side of the building, there will be no windows. I thought this was a little strange, as you would be able to look down Clifton Hill from that side of the building.

i thought the same thing when i saw it on thursday graham…but that may be the kitchen side..no need for windows..no distractions..but during the MANY MANY times we stayed there..we stayed on that side once..and only once….yur overlooking the back parking lot of the other hotel and unfortunately the garbage bins…trust me..it’s kinda gross..and not a great view AT ALL either…but if they’re smart..they’ll do a rooftop thing…. now THAT would be awesome…. :)

  2. 2 Chris

any confirmation this is east side mario’s?

  3. 3 sue

ya chris…got that a long time ago…my friend who ran the hotel and parking lot still runs the parking lot…she told me thursday that they don’t plan on being done till the fall..but yup…ESM fer sure…just for you!!…apparently it’s yur favorite?….lol
    :)

    yes, sue, it is! lol

Chris, there will be a 1220 seat East Side Mario’s at the Fallsview Plaza hotel as well. Not sure if the 1220 is a typo on the Business Development Report because that would be a massive restaurant. The report also mentions it will change names from Fallsview Plaza hotel to Four Points by Sheraton Niagara Falls - Fallsview.

  6. 6 Smoke

Another Sheraton!!!!! At least is had four points in front of it.

Don’t care much for East Side Marios. They need a Swiss Chalet in the tourist area. (I know there is one on Lundeys Lane”

  7. 7 Chris

its a good thing that sheraton is taking over the fallsview plaza (parents still refer to it as the renaissance!)

esm is great! dan m, i’m pretty sure that would be a typo unless they build a seperate building for it, because that would be massive restaurant. 1220, might mean 120?

What a waste of space. Why bother putting an East Side Mario’s there if they are going to have one just down the street. Plus one already failed in Niagara Falls. Now with the economy the way it is… the same restaurant group is now going to open 2 restaurants??
I’ll believe it will be an East Side Mario’s when I see it.
I would make more sense for this to be a Jack Astor’s.

The one before didn’t fail, they were always busy. The hotel they were located in had severe financial problems and eventually went bankrupt. They basically had to quicklyu vacate that location. Obviously have confidence in the city since they are returning with 2 locations. Tony Roma’s has 2 locations in the city even closer together and they both do fine.

I don’t think Jack Astor’s will invest as the St. Catharines isn’t busy. It would be cool though, kind of like the Jack’s at Toronto Life Square.

  11. 11 Chris

jack astors wouldn’t be bad idea. Keg has certainly made its appearance all over the city. i think there’s 2 in embassy suites, 1 in the courtyard, and one on lundy’s lane, not 100% though. TGI Friday’s is around too.
ESM should make another restaurant. 2 in NF.

  12. 12 Drafty

1 at Embassy, 1 at Courtyard, none anywhere else.

Niagara Falls definately has it’s fair share of chain restaurants. It’s getting hard to find family run or even individual restaurants. I hope when the downtown revitalizes itself we will see more signature restaurants open and leave out the chains so there will be something new to try.

  14. 14 Chris

thanks for clearing that up drafty.

……..however, for ESM, will we have to pay $20.00 for parking at the hotels just to eat at the restaurant???

My husband and I do not stay in the “fallsview” area. We stay way back on Lundy’s Lane!

  16. 16 niagara

The Fallsview area of the city is a joke.

    Happy Canada Day everyone!!!

  17. 17 worker

yo east side marios is in the falls view hotel

  18. 18 Karen's Mom

……..so, can anyone answer my question about the parking???

  19. 19 worker

i work there and i have no clue were you would even park

  20. 20 Karen's Mom

Oh, Good Lord, don’t tell me we’ve reached the saturation point!!!

My whole family (7 of us) love ESM. When it closed on Lundy’s Lane, we went to St. Catharines and even to the Mapleview Mall in Burlington where we were able to enjoy ESM.

Now with parking at a premium, it will be a case of “so near, yet so far!!!”

  21. 21 Fallsview

Karen’s Mom, why not park up the road at the new ground level parking lot, it is across from the IMAX theater and the old Pyramid Place building? This is where they torn down the old hotel last summer, and they only charge $3 for the day!! Not too far from the new ESM!!

  22. 22 Karen's Mom

    Thank you, Fallsview!

Being “seniors,” I sincerely hope that it is “not too far from the new ESM!!” We hate to pay a parking fee almost equal to the amount of an “entre” when dining out!!!

  23. 23 Dan M.

There is a sign around Stanley Ave. saying ESM is now open. Can anyone confirm?

  24. 24 Drafty

I saw a ‘now open’ ad in the paper also, so I guess it is!!

  25. 25 Chris

    it’s open!!! any confirmation, graham>

  26. 26 Fallsview

Yes it’s open… I drive by this stuff every single day, and I watch like a hawk for anything new, so yes it is open. They have banners on every side of their building including the construction barrier on Stanley Avenue.

  27. 27 Chris

    sweet…

  28. 28 worker

    dude its open lol

  29. 29 Josie

just to let you know East Side Marios is open and we have eaten there already. Food was great. You can do valet parking if you are eating there, just drive right up to the front of the restaurant and they will park your car and you just let them know when you are done and the will retrieve it right to the front door!

I wonder if they will bring back the “Chocolate Eruption” on the dessert menu? It has disappeared the past couple of years while we ate at St. Catharine’s. We used to order 1 “Chocolate Eruption”, 2 forks, please!!! Yum-m-m…………

  31. 31 karen

Who would share a “Chocolate Eruption”? Keep your fork to yourself, please!
