Falls will be Earth Hour leader: Diodati

    From Niagara This Week:

Earth Hour fever is starting to catch on in the city as residents and businesses prepare to turn out the lights for at least one hour Saturday night.

A webpage for residents to sign their names and their Earth Hour plans on is up and running on the city’s website, www.niagarafalls.ca. Residents are being encouraged to turn off their lights, computers, TVs and other appliances for one hour between 8 and 9 p.m. and join in the global event to raise awareness for energy conservation.

“They say 70 per cent of Canadians are going to participate,” said Coun. Jim Diodati, who has spearheaded the city’s involvement in the event.

“It’s going to be huge and Niagara Falls is going to be one of the leaders.”
