Loretto site eyed as conference centre

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

The old Loretto study hall, home to thousands of Niagara Falls students over the years, could play host to business conferences later this year.

Owners of the former Loretto Christian Life Centre will ask city council’s blessing to turn the former convent and boarding school into a conference centre and banquet hall.

“It’s a wonderful space. It really is. We thought it would be an enhancement,” said Tony Zappitelli, president of Romzap Ltd., the hotel company that bought the property from an order of Roman Catholic nuns early in 2006. The former convent and boarding school is considered one of the best pieces of real estate in the city owing to its view of the Horseshoe Falls from Stanley Avenue.

Zappitelli’s company owns the Sheraton Fallsview hotel next door.
