All things Niagara Falls tourism…
The new Perkin’s on Stanley Avenue is coming along nicely.

The former Vacation Inn on Stanley Avenue has become a Days Inn. It looks like Days Inn has modernized their logo. It’s much more colourful and I think more appealing.

The Maple Leaf Motel on Fallsview Boulevard (across the street from the IMAX Theatre) has been torn down. This must have to do with the For Sale sign I posted about a year or so ago.

From the Niagara Falls Review:
A “very important first step” in delaying the full implementation of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative has been approved by the United States Congress.
On Wednesday, amendments to the 2008 Homeland Security Authorization Act were passed by Congress in a 296-126 vote.
That vote, said Binational Tourism Alliance Executive Director Arlene White, means the Department of Homeland Security likely won’t be able to implement the controversial plan on its Jan. 1 timetable. “From our perspective, this is very good news,” White said Thursday. “They’ve taken the bulk of what (Representative Louise Slaughter) wanted in her (Protect American Commerce and Trade) Act and supported it.”
I’m sure there will be many articles about this. Regular visitor Lisa from Rochester sent me a link to an article in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.
