When I was in Canada a few weeks back it came time to get reimbursed for my taxes and three receipts were rejected so look at your receipts before you leave the store.
The Centre Gift Shop on Lundy’s Lane – Two receipts were rejected because they had the wrong date in their cash register. They had February when it was August.
Diane’s Collectibles on Stanley Avenue – They did not specify what the tax was for the GST so it was rejected.
Also they will not accept any receipt if it does not specify their GST# on the receipt.
Also when leaving your hotel make sure they show two things #1 – That you have a 0 Balance and that the specify what they charged for the GST if they do not do this then you have two options leaving what is usually a long line or just forgetting it but that amounts to a lot of money.
And I saw a lot of people were upset they were rejected because it had to be $50.00 before Taxes.

Id like to add to that, when you are leaving Canada the Duty free will only exchange 500 dollars or less back into American. If you have more than that they send you to a little booth just outside the bridge and the exchange is actually lower than you would get in the casino. This comes from an experience in June 06 @ the Rainbow bridge.
