New $40M waterpark makes three

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

    And then there were three.

The Fallsview Indoor Waterpark the latest addition to the Falls Avenue Entertainment Complex owned by Canadian Niagara Hotels opened quietly at noon Thursday.

But there was plenty of noise inside the structure, built high atop Falls Avenue at a previously reported cost of $40 million most of it laughter and squeals.

“Isn’t this amazing?” asked CNH’s director of marketing Gary MacGregor, during a tour of the 12,000-square-metre facility, which includes 16 winding waterslides, the kid-friendly Rain Fortress Beach House, a massive wave pool and a birds-eye view of Falls Avenue and the American falls.

Below, parents chased their kids on the special non-slip floor, dunking them in the waves and waiting for the giant bucket in the playhouse to dump 4,000 litres of water over their heads, while older kids and teens climbed the staircase for a wild ride down one of the six-storey waterslides.

“This is awesome,” one teen shouted, before blasting face-first down one of the slides. And it is.
