Travelodge Hotel by the Falls (or is that near the Falls)

There used to be a hotel on Ferry Street called the Quality Hotel Near the Falls. Well, it just changed names:

This is weird though. The new Travelodge Hotel by the Falls is right across the road from the Travelodge Near the Falls. I would think there is some sort of territory rights to stop hotels from being right across the road from each other when they are the same brand.

As of the time of this posting, the Choice Hotels (parent company of Quality Hotel) web site still shows the hotel as a Quality Hotel and the Travelodge Canada web site doesn’t show it yet.

Wow are tourists going to be more confused than ever! I know a lot of tourists mistake Sheraton on the Falls for Sheraton Fallsview.

I just phoned the Travelodge Near The Falls (Motel) and the Near The Falls lost the Travelodge Name so they will be calling it Lodge Soon. I guess Travelodge didn’t want a Motel when they could have a Hotel.
