    ‘One of the best’ NYE events for Falls businesses

    New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls was not only a ratings blockbuster, it was also one of the best nights ever for businesses in the area.

    “From what I understand, all the hotels sold out,” said Sarah Vazquez, vice-president of business development and marketing for Canadian Niagara Hotels.

    “Talking to the other hoteliers, they all saw a really good New Year’s Eve. I can’t wait for next year’s lineup.”

    Canadian Niagara Hotels owns and operates several hotels in the Fallsview Blvd. and Falls Ave. area near Queen Victoria Park, where the free New Year’s Eve concert was held.

    “There was lots of hustle and bustle. I would say the city certainly saw growth. New Year’s Eve is always a fantastic night, (the destination has) always been top of mind. This was one of the best ever.”

    Country superstar Keith Urban and pop heartthrobs Nick Jonas and Shawn Mendes will get Canadians warmed up for 2015 on ET Canada‘s New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls.

    The line-up, which also includes Lights, was announced Monday.

    The two-and-a-half-hour show, live from Niagara Falls, Ont., will be broadcast on Global beginning at 10pm.

    Entertainment Tonight Canada announced tonight the exclusive line-up for its 3rd annual ‘New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls,’ the country’s largest televised live New Year’s Eve party. The two-hour coast-to-coast countdown, hosted by Cheryl Hickey (@cherylhickeyetc) and Rick Campanelli (@rcampanellietc), begins at 10pm ET/PT on Global.

    Accented by a custom designed stage with state of the art lighting and video displays opposite the world famous falls, ET Canada’s year-end celebration will feature performances by some of the country’s biggest names in music. The evening kicks off in fine style with JUNO award-winner Keshia Chanté followed by a performance by The Sheepdogs, Saskatoon’s international rock phenomenon. Alt-rock legends, Our Lady Peace, keep the momentum going as the clock ticks down to midnight with pop/punk group, Simple Plan, one of Canada’s most prolific bands, taking to the stage for a rousing finish.     They’ve finally got some “big” (or bigger than previous years) names coming to the Niagara Falls New Year’s Eve concert.
