From Niagara This Week:
The city’s mayor has been accused of lobbying Premier Kathleen Wynne on behalf of the group proposing a $1.5-billion development on property that is home to more than 200 acres of provincially significant wetlands.
“I did not know that you were lobbying the Premier,” Coun. Carolynn Ioannoni told Mayor Jim Diodati at Tuesday’s meeting of Niagara Falls City Council. “I haven’t seen one letter from you to the Premier. They haven’t been copied to council. We didn’t give a motion to direct letters to the Premier lobbying for the developer, so if we could as a council get copies of those letters that would be fantastic.”
