Falls motels ‘getting killed,’ seek help from council

From the St Catharines Standard:

A group of Niagara Falls motel owners will be fighting for their survival at Tuesday’s city council meeting.

The Niagara Innkeepers Association, representing 40 motels and about 1,900 rooms, is requesting more time to pay its February tax bill in instalments to weather the industry’s slowest time of year.

Without this concession, group president Devanshu Narang is worried several ‘mom and pop’ motels – properties with 100 rooms or fewer – will not last another year.
