For the first time in years, I have the March Break off as a vacation week, so I won’t be posting much this week. I’m sure a few things will get posted, but generally I’ll be away from the computer and I’ll be busy playing with the kids. Have fun without me!
All things Niagara Falls tourism…
next week a little blog I know is having a birthday. 😀
Thanks for the reminder Niagara! I totally forgot. I just looked it up, and my first posting was on March 25, 2005 (my original description still pretty much applies). Wow, I can’t believe it’s been 5 years!

Sorry Sue, but it wasn’t me. I haven’t been in Niagara Falls for a week (I’m on vacation).
We’ve reported on the volcano before. Nothing official has come out of HOCO yet, but it seems like everyone has found out on their own that it is going to be a volcano.
it’s been a while since i’ve visited here.
first of all, how’s everything holding up? it’s been so long!
second, congrats on 5 years Graham!
and last, i was in NF for a couple days this weekend, we stayed at the fallsview plaza (formerly renessance), and they are building something big directly beside it. Do you have any idea what it could be?
ps, if you’ve posted on this topic before, please provide a link. Thanks so much and have a good one! 😀
Chris, it’s a 10 story addition to the hotel, which will very soon be rebranded as a Four Points Sheraton.
^so it is basically another hotel? i’m assuming it will be similar to the mid tower of the hilton, if what you say is correct. thanks so much.
Also, will it be connected to the hilton-casino bridge over the road? they are building it awfully close to the bridge.
Hey Chris,
Yes the bridge will still be connected to the new Four Points Sheraton, and here is a link to what is going on with this expansion including future endeavors: http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/stories/2008/12/22/story2.html?b=1229922000%5e1749001
thanks so much Lonny, even though the article was old it still gave great info.
quick NOTL question! are there any plans for the two buildings that burned down on Queen Street to be rebuilt? it was such a shame when we discovered this in November, and as i contemplate coming back to the Falls soon, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything!
They are going to rebuild, the site is all prepped and ready, but there was a bit of a problem. The original buildings there were constructed basically touching each other but, by todays building codes, that is not allowable, so they were applying for special permission to build within 2ft of the adjoining structures. Haven’t been there in a few weeks, they might have started by now.
understandable considering one building’s fire took out the other one… but you can’t mess with history! Make it like it was! 🙂
thanks for the info. this made me very sad when i saw it. if i’m not mistaken – one of the buildings that went down was the former “Loyalist Village” shop.
