krystle at kollege: niagara love

Someone with a Blogger blog posted about a recent trip to Niagara Falls. It also includes quite a few pictures.

For our third year dating anniversary, yes that’s right 3 years, Gerard and I planned a day trip to the beautiful and majestic Niagara Falls, Ontario.

New Montana’s sign

A few months ago I posted that the Montana’s sign on Victoria Avenue had been taken down. Well, a new one is up now, and it has an LED display as well. However, I haven’t seen the LED sign working yet.

They felt the Fury of the falls

From Niagara This Week:

Nicholas Krutel was screaming loudly Sunday morning as he and his friends from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Niagara were shook and sprayed with water.

Krutel was among 200 children from the organization who were among the first to experience Niagara’s Fury, a new attraction at Table Rock. Niagara’s Fury, an interactive exhibition that allows viewers to see and feel the birth of Niagara Falls in a 360-degree movie auditorium, is a new attraction which is part of the renovation of Table Rock.

“I hate Marineland commericals”

Apparently someone really dislikes Marineland commercials. In fact, he dislikes them so much he has started a petition. At the time of this posting, 12 people have “signed” the petition…

Soap in the Zimmerman Fountain

The Zimmerman Fountain is in Queen Victoria Park right at the bottom of Clifton Hill. On Friday, it looked like this:

Yesterday, it looked like this:

I realize that the pictures aren’t great. In case you can’t tell, someone put soap in the fountain. The white stuff in the bottom picture is mounds of suds!

x_Tori’s blog message on Niagara Falls Grad Trip

Someone with a Netlog blog posted about a Grade 8 graduation trip to Niagara Falls:

I went to Niagara Falls for my grad trip.
I had to wake up @ 5:30 and be at school for 6:30
Then me and all the grade 8’s and the teachers
and volenteer teachers all went on these big Couch Canada
buses, they had tv’s and stuff, so we got to watch a couple of movies…

Then Finally we got to go to Clifton Hill
which had lots of stores, rides, musuems, resturants, etc. Me and my friend Amy
went to the WWE shop & we went on the Pile Driver which was a high drop zone,
we went on a second time cause it was so fun…

It was such an awesome day! ;D

Tourists can fly in and out of Niagara Falls on day-tripper special

From the Buffalo News:

A planeload of “day trippers” from Rockford, Ill., will arrive at Niagara Falls International Airport on the morning of July 3 and depart that same evening in a first-of-its-kind tourism blitz.

The “all in one day” sightseeing experiment is the brainchild of the Greater Rockford Airport Authority to beef-up business at the underutilized Chicago Rockford International Airport. Tickets for the whirlwind trip to the Falls went on sale at 1 p.m. Wednesday and were sold out by 10 a. m. the next morning.

“People were really excited about having an affordable way to get to Niagara Falls,” said Zach Sundquist, the Rockford airport’s special projects coordinator. “It’s a convenient and cheap way for a whole family to make the trip without the added expense of an overnight stay.”
