The painting is done and the signs are up at Cantina Charlies. Apparently they are aiming to open April 18. The colours may not look that great during the day, but I’m sure it will really stand out at night.
I’ve contacted a couple of different people from Cantina Charlies so I can ask some questions, but no one has gotten back to me.

I really don’t know how to feel about all this blue. It doesn’t really seem Mexican to me. Maybe beige or yellow would’ve been a better fit. At least it will catch people’s attention.

On another subject, I notice that they are blasting/resurfacing the whole outside of the Skylon. Anybody heard if it’s anything more than that, like maybe installing new lighting (wishful thinking) or a new colour scheme with Cantina Charlie’s leftover paint?
To compete with the new Hilton, the Skylon will be following suit of Cantina’s. The only problem is the helicopters might mistaken it for clear skies.
Really though, I think the Skylon is getting resurfaced and that’s it. It looked terrible just a month ago with cement pieces missing from the tower.
Wow the Skylon is only 10 years (or more) past due on that project
