More hotels sign onto Sleep Cheap event

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Mark your calendar, but don’t pick up the phone just yet.

This year’s Sleep Cheap Charities Reap event will take place over four nights, from Monday, Nov. 26 to Thursday, Nov. 29.

Participating hotels will offer room rates of $35 per night for a standard room, $45 for a fallsview room and $65 for a whirlpool or waterpark room.

While the promotion days have been scheduled, the reservation days have not.

Graham are these rates for everyone or just Ontario residents?

  2. 2 Graham

They are just for locals (Niagara Region).

  3. 3 Rick

And you have to show proof when you check in that you live in the Region.

i’m pretty sure the last few times they’ve had this..it was only $25..wasn’t it?
    :)

    I think so…
I believe the reason is so that the $25 can be donated and the hotel can keep $10 to offset the cost of housekeeping, continental breakfast, etc.

    including hamilton?

  7. 7 Graham

I don’t think it includes Hamilton.

You have to be a resident of the Regional Municipality of Niagara. 50% of the funds raised go to the Niagara Community Foundation and the rest goes to various Niagara Falls (and Regional)charities chosen by the organizing committee.

If it doesn’t, i’m only 45 minutes away. Oh well.

Do it every year, I’m so excited… and I also believe that it was $25.00 for a standard room previously, although last year we stayed in a suite for $45, so maybe my memory serves me wrong.

I do this every year too and I’m so looking forward to it!! Last year we tried to get a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls for the kids… they wouldn’t let us reserve one until the next day and when I called the next day they were all gone.. I don’t want to be rude but I really think the workers at Great Wolf reserved all the rooms up for family and friends.. oh well we went to Americana instead and it was a fun family time.. This year is just for couples my husband and I and other couples go for the night it’s a blast!!

Nothing has been announced yet. Apparently the announcement will be made this week as to which hotels are participating and when reservations can be made.

The Review’s web site says that the info will be available this week. The Clifton Hill blog says it will be announced tomorrow (Friday) morning. So pay attention, and check their site.
