Sue, you beat me to this! I was VERY excited when I saw the contents of the survey. I think this is a great QUALITY attraction for the area. The sensory experience inside the wxhibit sounds like an awesome idea. I am very pumped for this, although I admit this is the first I had heard of the entire concept. I do think I remember seeing a picture of a boat in the “future hoco” drawing sometime back? Maybe not?
hoco, you are really onto something with this idea, congrats to you.
it’s SO awesome…and like i said niagara…the last time i filled it out..before i knew it..there was the wheel..lol..i bet it’ll go back further tho..no evidence of the hotels going yet..i’ll talk to my *source* next week when i’m there..see if she’s heard anything…lol..i brought the pic up of the propoael..but i can’t enlarge it enuff to make most of it out..

I’ll post some screenshots of the survey on Monday with some comments.
Nevermind me, Im an idiot. I went back and looked at the drawing of the future amusemtn park. No boat! I dunno why but I was probably thiking of that inflatable boat ride thing next to Mardi Gras.
lol..sorry graham..i just got so excited when i read it..i wanted to mention it right away…and niagara?..don’t think THAT boat would be big enuff…lol

WOW! I just did the survey. That would be sooooooo cooooool to see! And the Falls Pass with the Titanic and the Skywheel with the other things - good deal.
what future amusement park? If you find any pictures of it, post a link please, thanks.

I’m not trying to take away from Graham’s site Chris but here is a visual view of some of the projects proposed or soon to start here: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showpost.php?p=2254310&postcount=1
Also Graham, they have started to rip down the Day’s Inn behind the Hilton Hotel.
I knew the Titanic proposal would cause a huge stir. It seems like a great attraction, but I’d rather see the amusement park first over it.
Fallsview - Are they taking down the Days Inn for the Hilton expansion? What happened to that huge Days Inn proposal?
Where would this Titanic attration be located? I don’t recall it being specified.
I give it kind of a mixed review… it’s good because it’s original & educational…
…it’s bad because it just doesn’t fit in with the area. What signifance does the Titanic have anything to do with Niagara Falls? Did it mention anything about a proposed construction time-frame? Is this a for-sure thing, or are they just taking ideas? It seems like it’d be a huge investment for a single attraction like that.
…I’d just hope it wouldn’t be an eye-sore. As much as I love to see tacky attractions… they’re usually on a smaller scale. A half-sized replica of the Titanic isn’t small by any stretch of the means.
Well it would be somewhere on the HOCO property lol. I think this attraction fits in the area - it’s a family attraction. What attraction on Clifton Hill really has a “Niagara” theme - you can put any of those attractions anywhere and it wouldn’t matter.
I think at the time they are taking ideas, they are probably still waiting on the “passport issue”. They didn’t give a time frame.
Clifton Hill really isn’t that large a place and I’m having a hard time seeing something of this scale there. My one problem with the attraction is it may only warrant one or two visits if they are unable to bring in new things.
Thanks Fallsview, there sure are a LOT of new structures/hotels planned. Does anyone know if any of them are planned to be taller than the skyline tower?
Two of them Chris! The Hilton expansion will be 52 stories and 581 feet, the Skylon Tower stands at 520 feet to the top of the antenna. The Rainbow Tower which may or may not be built, will be one of the tallest hotels in North America at 751 feet.
Yes Dan, it’s going to be part of the new 153,000 sq meter (1,647,000 sq. ft) meeting and multi-purpose atrium, including restaurants and performance areas for the Hilton complex. It will be huge when it’s done. And as far as the proposed 50 story Day’s Inn goes, it was never even brought before council, kind of a ghost project so to speak! Too bad Greg Frewin couldn’t sign a deal to come on board as a nice Vegas style show in the new part of the Hilton?
That Rainbow tower one you’re talking about…
is it the one that would be right beside sheraton near clifton hill? Cause i couldn’t see that old casino white tower anywhere in that picture.
