Yesterday I received an email from regular visitors Lisa from Rochester. She’s looking for some help:
I am trying to find out what hotels of what areas offer wireless internet.
Also want to know if the hotel only offers dialup what would be needed to get onto the internet like software etc. This is the first time bringing laptops and would like some information. Possibly this would help others
Well, first off I would recommend that you read a posting from almost year ago where I wrote about some hotspots that had come up on my Pocket PC.
Do any of you have any experience with using the Internet at a hotel in Niagara Falls (either at a computer supplied by the hotel or with your own laptop)?

The comfort inn on clifton hill has a small room with a computer set up in it w/ internet access.
Where is this room? Do they supply the computer or bring your own?
The room is in the main lobby. They have a computer and printer all set up…its a great little feature of the hotel.
If you want to find a wireless hotspot, heading to the nearest mall is probably a good bet. Most of the malls I have been in have at least 1 unprotected hotspot that anything can connect to. I was out searching for hotspots for curiosity one time with my Nintendo DS game system and in one mall alone in one spot I found something like 6 or 7 wireless hotspots, and the DS is not even as good as a laptop when it comes to searching for wireless connections!
Places where I have used Wiresless: Day Inn Hotel (Free) and Suites, Sheraton Fallview, MArriott Fallsview.
Place where I have used High-Speed: Hilton (Charge), Casino (Free), Hampton Inn North of the Falls (Free) The Holiday Inn should offer free internet.
Phone the hotel and ask what Internet they have. A lot have wireless as it is cheaper. All it usually take is a click of the mouse to connect.
