Guinness vs Ripley’s

guinness_vs_ripleys.gif

The other day I was out on Clifton Hill and someone stopped me and asked me about which is better, Guinness World Records Museum or Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum?

I like them both. They’ve both been around a long time, but Ripley’s has kept improving their exhibits while Guinness is a little stale. Ripley’s is also a little “weirder” than Guinness and Guinness certainly has that famous name that attracts people.

What do you think?

In my opinion Ripleys is far better. I remember when I was a kid the display at the end with the guy (cant remember his name) were he sort of “dissapears” that was always great. The graveyard is also very funny, and over recent years as Graham stated, they continue to make changes.

Guinness has the same exhibits not all that interesting kind of a seen it done that place. We went back last year after a long time of not visiting and was very disappointed.

Like Graham said. Ripley’s is more newer fresher and while some old exhibits are there new ones exhist as well. If I recall Ripleys expanded not too long ago possibly expanding a floor I could be wrong

Their package deals with Ripley’s Moving and Louis Toussauds is not too bad either

Actually We are not interested in any of the attractions on the other side example: Haunted House, Fun House, Brick House etc. Nothing ever gets updated. I know the Fun House has the same stuff from when I was a teen.

Better Yet Graham which is better Movieland or Louis Toussauds. Definitely Louis Toussauds. Like the idea most of the figures are not behind glass and the figures are a little more life like

Ripley’s by a long shot. The Guiness museum is very static, and is mostly about reading about records. Ripleys is a good mix of reading, touching, and seeing. It is far more entertaining.

Lord help me if I’m ever so bored at Niagara to go in either one! It’s been a while - but If I had to choose - I would also choose Ripleys.

I am a gambler. And while I would rather have had my Niagara stay as it was before the casinos … for my money - since there IS a casino - I would rather leave a “donation” there than go to a museum. And for all of you who enjoy the beautiful atmosphere at the casino - you’re welcome. Glad I could help out : )

Side note - on my last trip I noticed that more and more chain stores are moving into the fallsview casino galleria. The great Canadian arts store has already closed. It’s a shame! I expect something DIFFERENT at a casino! If I wanted to go to a chain store - I would go to Pen Centre!
