Setup up for the Winter Festival of Lights

The Winter Festival of Lights starts Saturday, November 4, 2006 and continues until Monday, January 8, 2007. As I’ve been out and around lately, I’ve noticed crews out setting up the various displays.

Little Caesars is open

I’m not sure when it opened (at least a week ago), but Little Caesars on Victoria Avenue is now open:

No room at the inns thanks to Sleep Cheap; Some hotels sold out

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Niagara residents were quick off the mark to take advantage of the Sleep Cheap, Charities Reap promotion, which began Thursday.

About 20 hotels have teamed up with local charities, setting aside rooms for rent to residents from Nov. 27 to 30 for as little as $25. People didn’t wait long to make reservations.

“The phones have been ringing off the hook,” said Claudio Agnoletto, general manager of Michael’s Inn By The Falls, one of the participating properties.

This is the second year for the promotion, and Michael’s Inn has participated both years.

Agnoletto said the promotion is a great way for residents to get away without leaving the city. The fact the money raised goes to charity is even better, he said.

“It’s a great promotion for everyone, especially the charities.”
