From the Niagara Falls Review:
More than 40,000 revellers jammed Queen Victoria Park Saturday night to usher out the old and ring in the new during the city’s annual New Year’s Eve festivities.
Hosted by Mike Ryan and Noelle Sinclair from 105.1 The River’s breakfast club, the lineup for the night included local favourites Jonsey, then veteran Canadian rock acts Spirit of the West and Great Big Sea who rang in the New Year.
An early-day freeze made the ground hard enough to keep the mud at bay, but a balmy evening brought out people of all ages to the city’s biggest party.
