Mama Mia’s facelift

As posted previously, Mama Mia’s (on Victoria Avenue, at the top of Clifton Hill) has gotten a facelift:

It looks way better. Compare in this before/after photo:

New Year’s Eve Party in Queen Victoria Park

They didn’t waste any time removing the stage and cleaning up after the New Year’s Eve party in Queen Victoria Park. The weather was quite mild over the week between Christmas and New Year, but as you can see by the picture, there was still some compacted ice on the ground. The organizers were lucky this was there, otherwise the entire field would have been a big mud pit:

As I said, they’ve cleaned up almost everything, but there is still evidence of a big party :-)

Festival of Lights extended over this weekend

From Niagara This Week:

The Winter Festival of Lights (WFOL) committee is going to let its little lights shine for one last weekend.

The committee announced Dec. 30 it would extend the annual lights display to Jan. 9, seven days longer than originally planned.

This is good news! I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures this year. I’ll try to get out tonight or tomorrow night to take some pictures and post them to the Niagara Falls Image Gallery.
